The Path begins

For several years I have asked my parents if I could go to Africa.

On my Bat Mitzvah my great Aunt Christy gave me a card. It had not only money in it, but said the money was the start of my fund for a mission trip to Rwanda!
I was so excited I was speechless.

I met a missionary from Africa. He told me if my kidneys were still sick I couldn't go. So we started praying. My friend who is an Iranian pastor, who once had a kidney disease, began praying for my kidney's to be healed too.

The Dr's were talking about kidney biopsy. chemo treatments, and transplant lists. I was scared.

In December we went to the DR at UCDavis. They were so happy to tell me I didnt have to come back for 6 mons because I was doing so well! And I had permission for Africa and all the shots! (yikes)

So In September 2008, I get to go to Rwanda. I will work at an orphanage and get to stay at hotel Rwanda one night, and i get to meet Paul Rusesabagina. He is so amazing! I hope i can say his name by the time I meet him!

So please pray for me, my health, my parents -cuz my dad worries, and my grandparents- cuz I think Pa worries even more than Daddy. Pray for the people I am going to meet. Rwanda is a place with scars. Jesus can heal though. Pray for them to see Jesus in me.

Oh Tirzah,

I will be praying for you and for your parents and grandparents to be at peace about your trip in September. How exciting for you to be staying healthy, sorry about the shots, but it is to protect you. If the Lord has laid this on your heart, He is going to get you there and bless you so much. They will see Jesus in you, I sure do. (And you are still here in Ca. in your pictures, and He radiates all over you)! Wait till you get there and THEY see Him in you. You have a beautiful heart Tirzah and I will be praying for your trip.

Love, Laurie in So. Ca.
